Every weekend we all have those "I am gonna accomplish such and such" lists. Well, let's be honest. How many of us actually get them all done? I know I don't. For instance I always say that I am going to do all my house work on Sunday. That never happens. It gets done, but through the week. After all, who really wants to spend a glorious lazy Sunday doing housework?!
However, this weekend was actually pretty productive. (No the housework is not done yet.) I did manage to make sure that I have a plan for my meals this week so I do not eat out. I got the plants I bought Saturday at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens plant sale all happy in their new pots. (More to come on that later.) I also got my water feature back up and running. I did miss the sound of water tinkling in the background when I have my window open. Amazingly calming. And I got all that mess cleaned up. Then I made my new journal. It is a one line/gratitude journal to be started May 1 as part of my own "happiness project" {See gretchenrubin.com for all the details.}
So even, if I did not reach all my goals, it was a good weekend. It was a weekend that I was able to enjoy a few of the smaller things in life. And for me, that makes any weekend a good one.
What makes a good weekend for you?
Do you have to finish your entire to do list for it to be good? Or are you okay with accomplishing the major goals and not getting all the little things done?
What DID you do this weekend? Or better yet, what DIDN'T you do this weekend?
